How it all started…
It was a cold and rainy day camping. We were huddled under the tarps in our campsite and our friends brought out this board game to play. It was the same one that our friends had been choosing to play at/during parties (instead of partying and dancing). My wife and I, possibly only girlfriend at that time, couldn’t understand why our friends would play a board game instead of enjoying the party.
We were camping, it was raining, why not try it. We loved it, we understood now. That game was Settlers of Catan.
We own Settlers of Catan with the Seafarers of Catan and Cities and Knights of Catan expansions. I even laser cut the custom hex tiles for Catan out of various species of wood. Someday, I will write up a little blurb about that project.
